Trick Eye Museum, Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore

On our last day in Resorts World Sentosa, we visited the popular Trick Eye Museum. Trick Eye Museum started off in Hongdae in Seoul, South Korea in 2010 and the Singapore branch was opened in 2014. Trick Eye is short for Trick of the Eye, which refers to an art technique called Trompe-l'oeil that turns two-dimensional paintings into three-dimensional images through the use of optical illusions. 2D paintings on the museum walls, floors and ceilings appear to pop out of the surface and come to life.

There are 6 family-based zones to be explored here. It is an interactive 3D museum, so visitors are encouraged to participate and pose in the photos. Our whole family, especially our kids had fun posing for photos here! We had to make different facial expressions based on the scene and put our "acting" skills to good use. If you have a few hours to kill, it is definitely worth checking this place out.

Menya Musashi, Raffles City, Singapore

In Singapore, it is likely that you will need to queue to get into a restaurant especially during lunch and dinner hours. Most of the time, we would just eat earlier to avoid having to queue. We went to Menya Musashi to have our dinner at 5pm and there were only 2 more tables there at that time ;)

They have laminated menus here, as well as iPad menus. Ordering is done via the iPad, once you have selected and added the items you want to the basket, click send order.

I ordered the black soup tsukemen ($14.90), which was really good. Although we can get Menya Musashi in KL, the tsukemen are different from one another, and I do prefer the SG version more. You get four pieces of char siu with your tsukemen, as well as thick noodles, bamboo shoots and half an egg. Love the thick noodles dipped into the black garlic sauce. However, they definitely have nicer eggs in KL - soft and runny, just the way I like them. And by the way, in SG outlet, you can order up to 5 x the normal noodle portion (for the same price) so it's great for big eaters.

Hubby went for the white soup char siu ramen ($11.90), which is Menya's signature white tonkotsu broth made by boiling a substantial amount of pork bones. The broth is rich and creamy, very tasty! Pricewise, KL's one cost RM19.80 so it's more reasonably priced and cheaper to eat it in KL.

Service: Good.

Price: Total bill S$31.55. Green tea is complimentary.

Location: Menya Musashi, Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Rd, #01-16, S 179103, Singapore.

Tel: +65 6336 6500

Nearest MRT: City Hall.
