Serai, Paradigm Mall

Whenever we go to Paradigm Mall, we almost always go to either Plan B or Goku Raku Ramen for our lunch. For a change, we decided to try out Serai, and lunch turned out to be pretty good. The menu here is a mix of Asian and Western dishes.

I ordered the nasi lemak pandan (RM18) which comes with aromatic coconut and pandan rice, ayam goreng berempah, prawn sambal and condiments such as ikan bilis, peanuts, cucumber and boiled egg. We enjoyed this, especially the chicken which was flavorful and juicy - Baby D especially kept asking for more of the chicken :)

Hubby had the Nasi Campur Serai (RM25) which comes with white rice, served with rendang tok tenderloin, sambal petai prawns, kerisik ikan, crispy kangkung, salted egg and Serai's signature sambal belacan. As Hubby doesn't like petai, he requested to exchange it with sambal prawns. I tried some of the rendang tok, and it was pretty good.

For dessert, the kids picked the Oreo cheesecake (RM15.90) - rich and creamy, not bad at all.

Before lunch - trying on funny glasses

Donning funny animal masks ... LOL!

And that is just one of many ways we amuse ourselves during the weekend ;)

Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon: Spongebob Squarepants + Cubes Pizza

Our kids' eyes always light up whenever Sunway Lagoon is mentioned. We might as well make full use of our annual pass before it expires. We spent most of our morning at the new Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon - yes, it is fast becoming our favorite spot at Sunway Lagoon. Lots of fun water slides, and the seating area connected to it is shaded and pretty cooling. We have yet to check out the Slime Deluge which happens everyday at 4pm, but will do one of these days.

One of the highlights of this visit is the Meet & Greet sessions, first with Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick (12pm), followed by Dora the Explorer and her fuzzy friend, Boots (12.30pm). They also have Meet & Greet with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles later in the afternoon.

Hello Spongebob and Patrick!

Give me a fistbump, Spongebob!

With Dora & Boots

Since we were hungry, we grabbed some pizza from Cubes Pizza, which is located next to the Meet & Greet area at Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon. We went for these four flavours - Hula Hawaiian, Loaded Pepperoni, Quattro Formaggi, and Vegetarian and they were all yummy. We read that the dough is hand kneaded daily. We also had the chicken wings, which tasted decent but slightly on the skinny side.

Open daily from 10am to 6pm. Ample parking spaces available at adjoining Sunway Pyramid shopping mall.

Location: Sunway Lagoon, 3, Jalan PJS 11/11, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Selangor Darul Ehsan,
Malaysia.

Trick Eye Museum, Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore

On our last day in Resorts World Sentosa, we visited the popular Trick Eye Museum. Trick Eye Museum started off in Hongdae in Seoul, South Korea in 2010 and the Singapore branch was opened in 2014. Trick Eye is short for Trick of the Eye, which refers to an art technique called Trompe-l'oeil that turns two-dimensional paintings into three-dimensional images through the use of optical illusions. 2D paintings on the museum walls, floors and ceilings appear to pop out of the surface and come to life.

There are 6 family-based zones to be explored here. It is an interactive 3D museum, so visitors are encouraged to participate and pose in the photos. Our whole family, especially our kids had fun posing for photos here! We had to make different facial expressions based on the scene and put our "acting" skills to good use. If you have a few hours to kill, it is definitely worth checking this place out.

Easter Games for Kids and Families

Every Easter Sunday, we will have lots of activities planned out for the kids. Here are some of our kids / family's favorite Easter games.

1. Easter Egg Hunt

The day started with an Easter Egg Hunt. Hubby would hide the eggs which we have decorated earlier this week in our garden. Each child will be given a basket and asked to look for the eggs. The winner will get a small prize (usually in the form of a chocolate egg).

Is eating considered a game? LOL, every year after our Easter egg hunt, we will have an eggy breakfast for sure! This year, we had fried eggs and half boiled eggs

Followed by chocolate creme eggs ;)

2. Egg and spoon race

Each child is given a plastic spoon and plastic egg, and asked to race around the house. Best of 3 (fastest) wins!

3. Pin the tail on the Easter bunny

Not this year, but last Easter, Hubby made a giant sized bunny on a cardboard and the kids were blindfolded and will have to mark where the bunny's tail is. This was lots of fun, and also garnered lots of laughter.

4. Easter Word Search

You just need to google "Easter word search" and you will find lots of easy word search for kids.

5. Eating Toast off a line

This is not really an Easter game, but a game which our kids enjoy playing nonetheless. Hubby would toast some bread - usually he will cut a piece of bread into 4 sections and then put them on a line. The objective is to eat the toast using only your mouth (no hands allowed!).

6. Easter Dress Up

Usually we will dress the kids up for Easter, but this year, we didn't do much except for getting this chicken mask and asking our son to don it. Check out last year's Easter post for cute bunny get-ups.

Are there any games that you enjoy playing during Easter? Do share.
