Sticks N Maki specialises in precisely what it promises - Japanese skewers and sushi rolls, served in a sleek space with style to spare.
Yakitori fans can munch merrily on their favourite chicken parts like chunky liver and chewy hearts and gizzard (RM8 each). The kushiyaki selection also includes fun fare like savoury beef wrapped around melted mozzarella, buoyed by the herbaceous uplift of shiso leaves (RM36 for two sticks).
The sushi roll selection is wide, with crowd-pleasing choices such as the fish-focused Nemo Maki, blanketed in alternating toppings of smoked and fresh salmon, stuffed with avocado, cucumber and cream cheese for cheerful chomping (RM40).
Sake starts at RM38 for a 200-ml carafe that should suffice for half an hour. Note that Sticks N Maki is planning a free-flow sake promotion, 5pm-9pm, throughout this month starting March 12 to celebrate its grand opening.
Service shimmers with warmth and enthusiasm.
