Comfort carbs: The cinnamon rolls at Mutiara Damansara’s new Wheatcraft bakery-cafe are a cheat-day indulgence - fluffy-soft and layered with luscious toppings in savoury and sweet.
The chicken bolognese roll is crowned with a thick, temptingly meaty tang, while the caramelised onion and sour cream roll supplies sinful satisfaction. The tiramisu and Lotus Biscoff rolls are cloud-creamy and addictively aromatic.
Wheatcraft puts its craft to crowd-pleasing effect - staples like sourdough loaves offer a crisp crust that surrenders to a tender chew, while the jalapeño bagels work best if you like 'em tender and bready.
We enjoyed the elemental croissants, which emerged crave-worthy, crackly and fragrantly buttery.
All in all, founders Yong Beng and Win Nee, the head baker, have created a nice new nook for the neighbourhood.
