Say Chiizu, the popular Hokkaido-style stretchy cheese toast originating from Bangkok, Thailand has landed in Malaysia. The delicious brainchild of friends Jae and Aor, they first started out as a stall in Bangkok's night market and quickly gained popularity and expanded to malls across the country.
Say Chiizu now has branches internationally and they have just opened their first branch in Malaysia in Mid Valley Megamall.
The menu features their signature Hokkaido Cheese Toast, available in 4 flavours (namely Original Cheese, Charcoal Cheese, MILO Cheese and Unicorn Fruit) and Hokkaido Cheese Drinks.
The Hokkaido Cheese Toast is made using fresh cheese, such as mozzarella, cheese sauce and their homemade toasted bread. Before the toast is served, it is coated with the right amount of butter and pan-fried to a lovely golden brown. The toast is served warm and now comes the best part - trying to stretch the cheese as far as you can. #CheesePull
We tried all four flavours and the Unicorn Fruit is definitely the most Insta-worthy with its rainbow-coloured cheese. The cheese gets its colour from natural ingredients such as green apple, strawberry, banana, mix berry and blueberry. And yup, this smells and tastes very fruity. However, in terms of taste, my vote goes to the Original Cheese, with its slightly sweet-savoury flavour.
The Hokkaido Cheese Drinks come in 3 flavours, namely Peach Tea, Teh Tarik and Chocolate, topped with cheese foam. We liked them all, the combination of the tea and cheese foam was delicious. You can also have fun with your cheese drinks - be like BabySumoKids, and get that cheese moustache on! ;)
