Located in the busy district of London Bridge, just a few yards from the station, Duddells is one of the many Chinese restaurants in London, but one that has a well-regarded reputation. Whenever you search online to look for top-class Chinese restaurant in London, the chance is that Duddell's would be one of the first to be recommended. The cuisine is based on Cantonese style, with a few modern and western element in the mixed, all using premium ingredients. This is my fifth visit to the restaurant, as I kept heading back, slowly working my way to try out all the dishes from its menu. For this time, I picked a few dim sum as starters, followed by a selection of dishes from its a la carte menu to sharing with the table.

The dum sum quality at Duddells is one of the best in London, and it has proven its quality once again. The Imperial king crab and prawn dumpling tasted fresh with a hint of sweetness from both the crab and prawn, this showcases the top quality of the raw ingredients. Duddells' signature dish: The abalone rice was sensational, the rice absorbed all the wonderful umami flavours from the dried scallop and abalone. The abalone itself was tender with a blend of sweet and earthy taste, it was truly special. The Cantonese style steamed seabass was another fine dish, it was cooked to perfection and the ratio of soy sauce and spring onions were just right. The fish was so moist and every mouthful was a luxurious experience.

Duddells' is slowly becoming one of my top choices for a Chinese restaurant in London, while Park Chinois is still firmly the no1 for me, Duddells is a great alternative. The standard of the cooking was wonderful, while the place is not cheap, you are paying for top-notch cooking in a dining space that has class written all over it. I am a big fan of the space and the decor of the restaurant, even the use of plates and cutlery are taken seriously, showing the attention to detail from Duddells to create a full package of high end, modern fine dining Chinese cuisine experience that you wouldn't forget.
