One of Tokyo's best-known crepe shops, founded in Harajuku in the mid-1970s, Marion Crepes has opened its first Malaysian outpost in Plaza Mont Kiara.
Marrying Japanese and French sensibilities, this patisserie promises more than two dozen varieties of crepes, served warm or cold, savoury or sweet, with stuffings that range from teriyaki chicken with mayonnaise to chocolate with bananas and custard.
Prices start at RM9 for the simplest crepe smeared with blueberry jam. A crepe with ice cream and whipped cream can cost RM16. Each crepe is freshly prepared on the griddle, based on a Parisian-inspired dough recipe, and tastes satisfactory for a convenient, cheerful dessert that can be enjoyed on the move.
