Everyday at 4pm, the French have Le Goûter, also known as an afternoon snack or tea time, to tide them over until dinner time.
Not only has Brasserie 25 in Hotel Stripes KL upped the stakes in KL for French casual dining, they have also brought the fine tradition of Le Goûter to the city, so KL-ites can now enjoy afternoon tea with a French twist.
Available daily from 3-6pm, patrons can spend an afternoon indulging in unlimited French pastries, hot savouries and refillable tea. Usually priced at RM60 nett per person, the hotel is even offering a very attractive Buy 1 Free 1 opening promotion, whereby two persons pay the price of one until 30 June 2017. Now, that's what I call a great deal!
Not only is the ambiance and food great, our wait staff, Jamshed and Jassie efficiently refilled our tea cups and ensured that we left with full, happy bellies.
To start, we were served three types of hot savouries - salmon quiche, risotto balls and sardine puffs. They were all very tasty, but we resisted the temptation of going for seconds as we wanted to leave room for the desserts.

Jamshed and Jassie arrived at our table with the French pastries beautifully laid out on a tray, ready for us to pick out. They patiently explained the names and then it was decision time! Honestly, we had such a hard time choosing as everything looked so good. Don't fret though if you didn't make the correct choice on the first round, as the wait staff will come back everytime you feel like having more.

Some of the French pastries we tried include passion fruit cream tart, strawberry tart, blueberry tart, macaron, chocolate mousse slice, white chocolate slice, and Opera cake. Refined and made with finesse, we certainly enjoyed them all. Overall, a fantastic afternoon tea experience and possibly the best value for money afternoon tea in KL.
