Kakiya Umihiko is Solaris Mont Kiara's Japanese oyster bar and restaurant with Italian inflections.
Choose your mollusc from the impressive selection on ice, some mighty massive, showcasing provenances such as Hirota Bay in Iwate Prefecture. The oysters are shucked to order and served with playful house sauces like tomato with wasabi, red onion with red wine vinaigrette, and cucumber and cili padi with wine wine vinaigrette.
Oysters are also the star of kitchen-cooked recipes like risotto with aonori and wasabi, while raw seafood shines in the Hokkaido salmon belly sashimi and colourfully fresh fish carpaccio.
Other distinctive dishes include the Hokkaido sea urchin spaghetti in tomato cream sauce, alongside traditional staples like the soulful shirasu rice bowl.
