Fans of rooftop restaurants have a fresh destination in Chow Kit: Terrazza is now open to the public, Thursdays through Sundays, for calm alfresco evenings with a view of the city skyline.
Run by the operators of Osteria Gamberoni in the same building, Yap Ah Shak House, Terrazza is similarly skilled in Italian inspirations, serving with flair and friendliness.
It's always aperitivo hour here - before the sun sets, order up a storm of sharing plates, Venetian-style cichetti and crudi, including fried polenta with tomato-onion stew, plus plenty of seafood specialities like smoked ocean trout carpaccio with orange and dill, tiger prawn bruschetta with artichoke cream, and beautifully battered cod fish with aioli.
Terrazza's pizzas are a pleasure - try one topped with duck sausage, scamorza, mozzarella and mushrooms, followed by a luscious dessert of custard cream with assorted fruits in a coconut.
Keep the cocktails coming - the Pompelno Spritz blends Aperol and Prosecco with grapefruit juice, while the Barcelona Fizz is jazzed up with St-Germain, gin, lime juice and soda.
