Charcox is becoming a neighbourhood favourite in Salak South for well-priced Western fare that's a cut above what's expected.
At RM59 for 200 grams of grass-fed Aussie rib eye, customers can't be blamed for lowering their hopes, but this charcoal-grilled steak more than merits the price, a slab that's richly marinated, smooth and tender. Also of note: Charcox makes its own fresh pasta (with egg yolk and Italian 00 flour for silkier strands) and rustic-textured sausages (with natural hog casing) - the combo is a soulful main course that does justice to trattoria traditions (RM20). Fans of Italian fare can also snack on crisp arancini (RM14).
