PJ's new secret teahouse takes its brews seriously, offering a private collection of leaves that include some from centuries-old tea trees on the southwestern Chinese mountainsides of Yunnan - a terrific premium tea with a deep, dark Pu Erh earthiness, aged over two decades (RM18 per pot).
But Kichi Cha also knows how to have fun with its cha, with a variety of tea in playful categories like Genki In A Bottle (with highlights like Hawthorn Apple Tea), Cold Brew Cina Tea (Da Hong Pao is recommended), I Am Not Boba Milk Tea (sip on Chrysanthemum Milk Tea), and the Fresh AF Series (including Kumquat Fresh Tea).
Fun fact: Kichi Cha's founders Brian and See Wei initially planned to open a Japanese-inspired ice cream parlour when they turned this former illegal gambling den into a cafe.
Kichi Cha33, Jalan 21/17, Sea Park, 46300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Open Wed-Thurs, Sun-Mon, 11am-8pm; Fri-Sat, 11am-930pm.
