Engi Patisserie, Cheras

A stack of sourdough pancakes with a light, lovely chew, followed by sourdough slices with a crisp crunch, complemented by creamy butter, make for an irresistible indulgence at Cheras' new Engi Patisserie on those cheat days when carbs don't count.

Engi Patisserie should easily be a crowd-pleaser with an extensive repertoire of everything from espresso croissants (coffee-spiked, subtly) to egg tarts, a showcase of competent, confident baking. Our favourite is the Japanese-influenced pastry layered with passion fruit cream cheese, thanks to its sugary-savoury tang, paired equally well with coffee or roasted rice tea.

Engi Patisserie
14, Jalan Nadchatiram, Taman Taynton View, 56000 Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. Open Tuesday-Sunday, 10am-8pm.
