The Arch Kitchen & Bar, Sri Hartamas

Hartamas' latest hangout for Thai fare feels very much part of this neighbourhood already; its nicely conceived interior with easy-on-the-eyes flourishes is a magnet for customers.

Of the food we ordered, our favourite is the Cameron Highlands sweet corn salad, its chilled sweetness balanced by creamy slices of salted egg yolk (RM17.90). Other Thai culinary staples, from mackerel fishcakes (RM19.90) to pad thai with prawns (RM18.90), should prove predictably safe. We also sipped on Lust and Passion, two cocktails tinged with Asian inflections like lychee syrup and pandan syrup (RM39), but both might benefit from less throat-burning, taste bud-stinging hooch (RM39 each).
