Dendy Doo Fried Chicken, Petaling Jaya

You have one more week to try Dendy Doo Fried Chicken before it closes: Its chef first opened a fried chicken stall in PJ Old Town's Satu Penchala Kopitiam in 2014 before launching this full-fledged, fowl-forward restaurant in SS2 this year. Unfortunately, things haven't worked out on this low-key corner of the neighbourhood, so the venue is scheduled to shut on November 10, without a clear plan for its future. That's a shame for fans of fuss-free, affordable fried chicken - a full chicken leg with curried rice and sambal clocks in at only RM9.80, while the crispy-battered boneless version with Indomee is RM12. Fleshy but not greasy, showered with plenty of rempah bits for extra spice, this is quintessential Malaysian ayam goreng.

Dendydoo Fried Chicken
54, SS2/72, Petaling Jaya, 47300 Selangor. Open Tues-Sun, 11am-10pm.
