A little cafe that could, The Lolla Co. makes lovely use of its modest space to carve out its own special sanctuary in the city, offering a soul-reviving escape from the office cubicles.

The menu might not be a far-reaching lollapalooza of temptations, but it's a succinct selection that seems to revere quality over quantity. Of the multi-seed sourdough sandwiches, Mariah Berry is a harmonious ensemble of roasted chicken with Cajun-inspired spices that truly belongs together with house-made organic cranberry jam and herbed mayo, thoroughly textured and tasty, rounded out with roasted veggies, sufficient for a balanced lunch (RM16). For a creamy sweet treat, the Kranky Karrot is a sterling ambassador for carrot cakes, satisfyingly studded with walnuts and cranberries (RM12).

Come in, the coffee's fine; order a flat white with almond milk for a smooth, creamy concoction with a little extra nuttiness (RM10).
