Step into Yue, Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel's fine Cantonese restaurant and you will be greeted by a Straits Oriental inspired dining room, with tea drinking potteries and soft water coloured artwork from Penang. The rich, elegant decor complements the innovative menu, fusing classic Chinese dishes with expressive presentations.
On top of an extensive a la carte menu, Yue also offers four set menus which are made up of various chef's specialty dishes and include a starter, soup, main, noodle/rice dish and dessert each. We selected the Yue Extraordinary Individual Set B (RM128 nett per person) and Set C (RM148 nett per person).
Yue's Extraordinary Individual Set B
First to arrive was the impressive looking Three hors d'oeuvre - a deep fried long tail prawn katafi, steamed fish paste dumplings and chilled chicken roll.
This was followed by Chef's special double boiled Chinese herbal soup served in a teapot, which came with a whole abalone, black chicken and cordyceps flower. Nourishing, warming goodness. So so good!
Next, we had the Baked cod fish topped with wasabi and Chef's special sauce. The fish was nicely cooked; moist, flaky and very enjoyable. The fried rice with chicken, shrimp and Chef's special spicy sauce was great too, flavorful with plenty of wok hei.
One of my favorite things from this set is the dessert, the Chilled avocado pudding with citrus lemongrass sauce. Smooth and creamy, absolutely delish.. it's a must-try!
Yue's Extraordinary Individual Set C
The starter for this set is pretty fusion in my opinion, Pan-fried flat noodles with salmon, soft shell crab and prawns.
They do soups very well here; the Double-boiled abalone soup with morel mushrooms was excellent. Initially, we thought they were served the wrong soup as we couldn't find the abalone, but turns out the whole abalone is stuffed inside the chicken wing. This soup also comes with dried scallops. Yummeh!
One of the signature dishes, the Baked fresh water prawns with black truffle butter and cheese. Loved the intoxicating smell of truffles, along with the sweet, juicy flesh of the prawns. The seafood fried rice with golden garlic was tasty and came with a generous amount of prawns.
For dessert, we enjoyed the refreshing Chilled mango cream with fresh milk and sago.
Opening times: 12.00pm - 2.30pm; 6.30pm - 10.30pm daily.
