I have eaten at China Tang Landmark not long ago to experience what top class Cantonese fine dining dinner is all about. Top ingredients, executed in both classic and modern methods with a touch of refinement is what China Tang is all about. For my second visit, I returned to sample its lunch menu. Most Chinese restaurants have a massive difference in its lunch vs dinner offering, so I was keen to see what the lunch menu is like at China Tang. The menu is mostly dim sum, along with some small dishes that are tapas sizes which are great for sharing.

My meal kicked off with a selection of dim sum. I have eaten plenty of steamed rice flour rolls in the past, but China Tang's version was hard to beat. Filled with a layer of crispy tofu skin, before wrapping with prawns and scallops, it was clean with a fine mixture of soft and crispy texture, the taste was a pure sensation. The black truffle steamed bun was a creative dim sum which had so much mushroom aroma, very soft with a comforting earthy flavour. I was in love with the barbecued pluma pork, the meat was so tender and the sweetness of the sauce did not overpower the meat, with just a tiny hint of smoky aroma which made it so satisfying.

The lunch at China Tang Landmark was a real joy, it was nothing edgy but the taste was just fabulous, as far as classic Cantonese flavours goes. What I especially enjoyed is the dim sum, while the presentation is not too difference to many other places in Hong Kong, you can instantly taste the different. Along with the killer elegant setting that China Tang is famous for, this place is hard to beat for a lazy fancy lunch in style.
