Bunn Choon, Petaling Street, KL: Egg Tarts

Bunn Choon, Petaling Street, KL: Egg Tarts

After breakfast here, we wandered around Chinatown to explore the area. The aroma of freshly baked pastries led us to Bunn Choon.

They have several types of Chinese pastries on offer here such as kaya puff, siew pow, ham dan so, almond tart, wife biscuit and more. Since we just had breakfast, we went straight for the egg tarts.

We were told that the next batch of traditional egg tarts would only be ready in 17 mins so we went for the last traditional egg tart (RM1.90) as well as a bamboo charcoal sesame egg tart (RM2). Personally, we liked the traditional one more but both had a lovely, flaky crust. I'm sure it would taste even better if it's straight out of the oven. Worth trying if you are in the area!

Right behind the counter, you can see the ladies making the egg tarts as well as the ovens they're baked in.

Don't worry, it's a sesame seed on the egg tart and not some unidentifiable object LOL

This lovely mural, on the walls of the building in one of the backlanes.

*Please note that the egg tarts are only available from 10am onwards.

Non-halal.

Opening times: 8.30am to 5pm. Closed on Mondays.

Location: Bunn Choon, 153, Jalan Petaling, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
