The Mid-Autumn Festival is a joyous time whereby families come together and savour mooncakes while watching the full moon.

This year, Hogan Bakery Malaysia presents the Moon Rabbit Collection which showcases five traditional mooncake flavours. The mooncakes are baked daily using the finest ingredients. The Moon Rabbit symbolises loyalty and thanksgiving and can be found embossed in gold on the midnight blue boxes.

The five flavours available are Classic Select, Local Couture, Golden Gem, Emerald Fortune and Red Treasure, each with a lovely, distinctive flavour. My personal favorite is the Classic Select, which is the classic single egg yolk mooncake made with 100% lotus seeds and baked to perfection with aromatic peanut oil. The Golden Gem is rather unusual as it comes with a rich, runny salted egg yolk custard centre. Our kids named the Emerald Fortune as their favorite, with notes of matcha tea as well as coffee paste and a cheese centre. For those who love the classic red bean flavour, the Red Treasure, elevated with rose sugar, is the one to go for.

Overall, the mooncakes from Hogan Bakery have a deliciously smooth filling and is just right in terms of sweetness.
