From Penang Hokkien mee to KL Hokkien mee, with everything from Ipoh Buntong bean sprout chicken, Klang bak kut teh, Kuantan nasi lemak and JB mee rebus in between, Malaysia Boleh offers a microcosm of the country's non-halal street fare, parked inside the flagship food court of the new Four Seasons Place mall enclave.
The Malaysia Boleh F&B brand originates from Singapore, but its recipes are reputedly sourced from purveyors in the various Malaysian states. This KL venue spaciously resembles a colonial-era mansion, with self-service stalls galore to choose from.
The Kuantan Chinese-style nasi lemak with fried chicken wing (RM9) and KL Hokkien mee (RM12) both make for a satisfactory lunch - a convenient way to get your fix for a variety of classic crowd-pleasers in the city centre. Penang fried oysters next time.
