Pitt Cue

King of BBQ

Bone in prime rib

Where do I start about Pitt Cue... the legendary BBQ joint which gained a cult following when it was based in Soho, before moving to the current site in the City of London as a trendy restaurant with an open kitchen and smart bar. It has a reputation for dishing some of the very best BBQ dishes in the UK, having eaten there 3 times already, I couldn't agree more. For the true Pitt Cue experience, order off the daily specials blackboard, which offer some mouthwatering giant cuts of meat, ranging from aged Dexter beef to the special Mangalitsa pork.

For my visit, I ordered a selection of large cuts. The giant Mangalitsa smoked blade is pork at its best, the melting texture was simply stunning, almost like the pork version of Wagyu beef. To top it up, it came with a layer of well seasoned crispy skin, I can't get enough of it. The smoked leg of lamb was an interesting dish with beautiful caramelization that offered a sweet-savory flavour. Pitt Cue is also a master at dishing up top quality beef steak, the sharing Dexter aged chuck rib was as flavoursome as a piece of steak you would find in top steaks joints, such as the Hawksmoor. Cook to perfection and had a delightful tender texture and powerful meaty taste.

Pitt Cue is truly a BBQ temple, good quality meat grilled to perfection. No fancy presentation, just pure meaty goodness that no other BBQ joints in London come close to rival it. Come early as the daily special items tend to get sold out really fast, Pitt Cue is not a cheap place, however, when factoring in wine, it would easily cost you more than £50 per person. However, based on the premium quality of the meat you are getting, it is totally worth it, this is a must-visit restaurant for any BBQ meat lovers.
