All about the txuleta

Tomatos at its finest |
I was lucky enough to get myself a plate of the tortilla, it was silky smooth with a creamy potato and runny egg filling, I couldn't fault it. Up next was a tomato salad, the tomato tasted like fruit, sweet and worked wonderfully with the aged olive oil and baguette, really freshness up my palate. On to the main event, a giant plate of bone in sirloin txuleta steak that weighted over 1kg. Visually it looked stunning, served on a hot metal plate with a good chunk of sea salt on top. It was cooked almost rare, just how I like it. The steak was really moist and the texture was not far from wagyu beef, the flavour was so rich and loaded with bags of umami taste.

Beside the quality food, the wine list was also top notch and amazing value for money, the house white wine cost under 2 Euro a glass and the quality can rival something that worth at least £10 back in London. The service was really charming and friendly, no matter if you are a local or a tourist who can't speak a word of Spanish, they would still take great care of you. I was in love with Bar Nestor, In fact, I loved it so much, I returned to the very next day and ordered the very same thing. If I ever return back to San Sebastian, stopping by Bar Nestor again would be high on my priority list.
