If you ask me which is the best restaurant in London, I would say The Ledbury without needing to think twice. The double Michelin starred restaurant by Executive chef Brett Graham is a dining temple and one of the hardest to book restaurants in the Capital, the food is modern French at a very refined level. The Ledbury was also newly crowned the best restaurant from The OpenTable's top 100 list, voted by the UK consumers. Returning for my 8th visit, I was so eager to see how the menu has developed and I was sure it would be something very special.

After a selection of canapes with some heavy dose of black truffles, we were treated dish after dish of top quality cooking. I found the white beetroot a very unusual dish but it is full of exciting flavours, it was a dish with a great balance of sweetness and umami flavours, the earthy and silky profile of the white beetroot worked like a charm with the smoked eel. The Ledbury is known for its outstanding pigeon cooking and this time was no different, it was cooked to perfection with spot-on seasoning, the fruity taste of the fig and bitterness of the red leaves was an outstanding match with the richness of the pigeon met. The Herdwick lamb was also stunning, as moist as you can get and had an interesting garnish with a piece of aubergine that cooked with black tea which offered some very robust and powerful tastes.

As expected, The Ledbury delivered a world-class meal once again, everything was faultless, as was the charming service. For some reason, the Michelin Guide doesn't rate it as a 3 stars restaurant yet, and I wonder why. I have been on a mission to search for exceptional restaurants in London, but so far none has come close to be as good as The Ledbury yet. This is such a magical restaurant that has everything you can hope for in a fine dining restaurant. The Ledbury is without a doubt the best fine dining restaurant in London and one that would easily be my regular hangout joint if I ever live nearby...
