“Eh, lunch eat where?” A simple question that’s easily answered by Green Dot Stables, which offers set lunches that promise value for money.
Situated in a corner-lot of Centrepoint Bandar Utama, Green Dot Stables’ extensive lunch selection covers an array of pasta, rice and noodle dishes. These sets come with a choice of Iced Lemon Tea, Honey Green Tea, Orange Juice or Peach Tea. They also serve pizzas at this time; according to the wait team who served us, the rest of the a la carte menu is not available for lunch. We decided to go for two set meals (with two iced lemon teas) and a pizza.
The first item we picked was the Juicy Stewed Pork Mee Hoon (RM15.90), which came highly recommended. The pork is so tender, you could slurp the meat right off the plate. The mee hoon is served wet and savoury; combined with the punchy-tasting pork, this is a pretty rich dish.
The Rib Eye Pasta (RM13.90) is a sleeper hit. The pasta is cooked al dente, with sufficient firmness. The beef comes in juicy chunks and tastes slightly sweet. The garlic and onions give this dish additional flavour, with a texture that’s not too oily. If we were to describe this, it could be compared to a heftier aglio olio, as the beef adds a bit of weight to the dish.
The last dish that came to our table was the Grilled Salmon Pizza (RM18.90). The pizza itself is excellent – the crust is crispy, while the oozing cheese is thick and creamy. The salmon is cooked all the way through; whether this pizza works for you mainly depends on how much you like salmon and if you think it goes well with pizza. We definitely enjoyed it, especially at this price point.
The venue is very busy throughout lunch. Nevertheless, service is relatively speedy, and we received the first two dishes within 10 minutes.
Thank you Green Dot Stables for having us. If you want to know more about their non-lunchtime meals, check out our previous visit here (2015 review).
